ISO400 Community Guidelines
Draft for review, not legal advice.
ISO400 is a map made by photographers, for photographers. These guidelines keep it useful, friendly and safe. Breaking them can mean your content is removed or your account is limited or closed.
Share good places
- Public and legal to reach. Only add places you can reach without trespassing: streets, parks, public paths, beaches, public buildings, or private sites that are open to visitors.
- No homes or private spaces. Don't pin people's houses, gardens, or anywhere that would expose where someone lives.
- No dangerous spots. No live railways, rooftops, active building sites, derelict buildings that are unsafe or closed, or tips like "climb the fence". If access needs care (tides, cliffs, traffic), say so in the tips.
- Be accurate. Put the pin where you stood, pick the right category, and add useful tips (best light, access, parking).
- Sensitive places. Be thoughtful with nature reserves, nesting sites, memorials and places of worship. Follow local rules.
Share your own photos
- Upload only photos you took, or that you have permission to share.
- Credit is automatic: your name appears on your photos.
- Location data is removed from your photos when you upload them.
Respect people
- People in photos. Street photography is welcome, but don't post photos that humiliate someone, show people in private situations (for example through windows, in changing rooms or toilets), or focus on children without their parent's permission.
- No harassment, hate or threats. Be kind in comments and at walks. No abuse based on race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or anything else.
- No sexual content and nothing involving minors, ever.
- No impersonation of other people, communities or businesses.
Photowalks
- Organisers: give a clear meeting point, time and route, and say if a walk is hard, long or not step-free.
- Everyone: look after yourself and others, stay with the group, respect locals and private property, and leave no trace.
- Report anything that made you feel unsafe.
Businesses and sponsors
- Be honest about who you are, what you offer and any conditions on perks or discount codes.
- No spam, fake reviews or misleading offers.
